British Council, Social Enterprise Ethiopia MeetUp Addis

Zero One Zero One was honored to be a part of MeetUp Addis program sponsored and hosted by the British Council. We celebrated International Women’s Day with three remarkable & dynamic thought leaders. First off, Magnificent Feven Tsehaye, Tchakka Origins, whose aromatic blend of oils carried us into the depths of Ethiopia’s conservation and treasures. She has crafted a well-researched set of beauty and therapeutic products and has already started exporting them.

High-powered Rekik Bekele, Green Scene Energy, recited the moment she found her purpose in life – providing solar energy! She took us on a journey from girlhood to womanhood and to her dream of providing 600,000 households with solar power – i.e. 10% of the country’s needs.

Last but not least, courageous Mimi Legesse, Teki Paper Bags, has her sight on business with social impact. She guided us on how she co-founded their social enterprise, how it serves so many deaf people, and her quest to get Ethiopia plastic-free & the government reserves the paper bags sector to empower persons living with disabilities.

MeetUp Addis was sponsored and hosted by the British Council. We are extremely grateful to the British Council for their support in hosting this event

Thank you,
