Zero One Zero One Tech & Entrepreneurship Concludes Successful Mentorship Program for Women-Owned SMEs

We at Zero One Zero One Tech & Entrepreneurship announce the completion of our recent Business Development, Advisory and Mentorship program, conducted in partnership with the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) Ethiopia. Our CEO, Kidist Gebreamlak, led this initiative designed to empower women-owned small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Over two months, we delivered eight customized sessions, each crafted to address the unique challenges faced by our mentees. We made a strategic decision to shift to group sessions, which proved highly effective in fostering a collaborative environment. This approach promoted interactive discussions that enhanced learning and facilitated valuable networking opportunities among participants. We commend our mentees for their unwavering dedication and hard work throughout the program. Their commitment to applying the knowledge gained is noteworthy. The structured and tailored nature of our mentorship has produced exceptional outcomes, and we’ve observed significant progress in each participant. As we reflect on the program’s success, we look forward to organizing similar initiatives in the future. Our goal remains steadfast: to continue supporting and empowering women-owned SMEs in our region. Zero One Zero One Tech & Entrepreneurship concludes First Module of Hybrid Soft Skills and Business Training Program at AASTU

Zero One Zero One Tech & Entrepreneurship has successfully completed the first module of its groundbreaking soft skills and business training program at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU). This comprehensive initiative, offered in both digital and hybrid formats, has equipped students with essential tools for success in today’s digital landscape. The inaugural module, focusing on Studying Skills, concluded on June 5, 2024, after a two-week intensive course that began on May 22. A diverse group of 79 students, ranging from first to fifth-year undergraduates, participated in the project-based training. The module was designed to enhance critical abilities necessary for excelling in both traditional and online learning environments. Key highlights of the program include: As the program progresses, future modules are expected to cover additional essential skills, further empowering AASTU students to become competitive and adaptable individuals in their chosen paths.

Zero One Zero One at the Regional Ministerial Forum on Migration (RMFM)

The Regional Ministerial Forum on Migration (RMFM) recently convened from February 26-29, 2024, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The event united leaders and delegates from 11 East and Horn of Africa countries, including Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, the United Republic of Tanzania, and Uganda.The forum, co-hosted by the Ethiopian Ministry of Labor and Skills and the UN International Organization for Migration (IOM), centered on the theme “Harnessing the Power of Regular Migration Pathways for Youth Employment, Skills Development, and Green Economy.” Investing in the FutureA key focus of the RMFM was empowering the region’s nearly 60 million youth aged 15-24. The forum spotlighted strategies to maximize the development impacts of labor migration in the region, with discussions revolving around investing in skills development programs, promoting knowledge transfer between regions, and identifying in-demand skills. Collaborating with AASTU, we co-hosted this three-day event that welcomed over 1500 incoming students to the university community. Igniting Potential from Day OneThe orientation program was meticulously designed to provide a comprehensive and engaging introduction to university life. We were proud to play a part in welcoming new students and their families, setting the stage for a successful academic journey. Exploring Opportunities and Building ConnectionsOver the course of day two and day three, students embarked on a journey of discovery. They explored the diverse academic departments at AASTU through informative presentations, gained firsthand experience through laboratory visits, and learned about the university’s extensive support services. Our team also participated by showcasing the products and services offered by Zero One Zero One Tech & Entrepreneurship, sparking the students’ interest in the exciting future ahead of them. In addition, our esteemed partners – The Association for Talent Development in Ethiopia (ATD-Ethiopia), Dashen Bank, and Enat Bank – also presented their offerings from their respective booths, further enriching the students’ experience.
